Nagaland: Industrial policy

Nagaland, the sixteenth state of the Union of India, after thirty-one years of Statehood continues to be a deficit state despite special privileges. It is still heavily dependent on central grants for survival, and its economy still has long strides to take just to come at par with sister States in India, let alone complete in the global arena.Without proper diagnosis, administration of remedial measures may get misdirected. There is therefore, need for an honest introspection. Without clear objectives and guideposts, the journey may take longer than necessary or meander completely in the wrong direction. Hence, the need for a policy that lays down goals and provides directions.
