Thursday, September 25, 2014: Computex Taipei is the largest ICT trade show in Asia and the second largest in the world. This year’s exhibition was held in Taipei from June 3 -7, 2014. More than 150 representatives from the Taiwanese ICT industry and representatives of India from Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Telecom Sector Skill Council of India, Ernst & Yong and HCL Technologies participated in the event.

Smt Vandana Srivastava, Additional Director, DeitY and Shri. Sanjay Koul, Senior Technical Officer, DeitY interacted with key industry players, and highlighted various policy initiatives of Government of India regarding promotion of ESDM
sector in the country.

On the side-lines of the exhibition, ITA in cooperation with Taipei Computer Association (TCA) organized an Investment Seminar in the ICT Sector in India and a networking event on 6th June, 2014 at Taipei International Convention Center. During the seminar, Shri Pradeep Kumar Rawat, DG, ITA made remarks and urged Taiwanese companies to utilize the excellent incentive schemes under ESDM policy to setup their operations in India. Mr. Davis Hsu, Deputy Director General, Bureau of Foreign Trade (BoFT), Mr. Enoch Du, Secretary General, Taipei Computer Association (TCA) also spoke during the seminar. Detailed presentations on the opportunities in India were made by experts from India and Taiwanese side.

The seminar and the networking event helped to create awareness among the Taiwanese ICT sector companies. There is a renewed interest among the Taiwanese electronic companies towards Indian market. ITA will follow-up on some of the queries received from the Taiwanese companies during the event.
